The Brick is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fixed Assets Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing the company’s capital assets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all fixed asset processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review asset additions with various departments to ensure accurate classification between capital expenditures and operating costs.
  • Transfer completed projects from construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts to the fixed assets subledger.
  • Reconcile CIP accounts on a regular basis.
  • Process monthly depreciation and related journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end reports and analyses for various departments.
  • Support the preparation of the annual capital budget.
  • Assist with audits and other finance-related projects as needed.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials is an asset
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in fixed assets and capital accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage priorities under minimal supervision
