Responsibilities

  • Co-manage the overall operations of the Inbound department
  • Assist in maximizing the cost-effectiveness of operations including budgeted operating costs, labor costs, equipment, and resource utilization, and service expectations
  • Adhere to, actively promote, and monitor all company policies and procedures pertaining to Core Values, Health and Safety, Operating Standards, Personal Appearance, and Security
  • Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures.
  • Develop employees through coaching, goal setting, conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities
  • Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
  • Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Inbound Department; analyze Inbound volumes to all locations to ensure efficient loading and picking frequency to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks
  • Manage the receiving schedule including planning for seasonal changes
  • Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving DC Inbound Reporting
  • Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
  • Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates
  • Ensure all loads received are accurate and damage-free within set time schedule and conduct reviews with inventory team
  • Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures while achieving departmental goals through effective staff management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset
  • Minimum 4 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail; Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory-controlled environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Self-motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic
  • Superior planning and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize
