Our team is currently seeking a Financial Analyst in Inventory Accounting. The candidate would be part of the Inventory Accounting Department and be responsible for performing a variety of inventory accounting tasks. The candidate will work on an individual and team basis within the Finance department. This position would report directly to the Manager of Inventory Accounting and is based in our Edmonton Corporate Office, working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month end close activities including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly freight analysis
  • Prepare various internal reports from Access database
  • Review freight invoices from Traffic department and prepare uploading files for AP
  • Support Treasury team with vendor setup and weekly customer refund process
  • Perform ad hoc requests from management
  • Assist with interim and year end audits

Qualifications

Education & Experience Required

  • Combination of analytical experience coupled with a post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years experience in similar role
  • Professional accounting designation is an asset but not required

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office programs; Advanced knowledge of Excel would be an asset to analyze data and develop and maintain robust financial models
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, fluid working environment
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Essbase is an asset
  • Proven ability to manage a wide variety of assignments at once and manage competing deadlines
  • Experience interacting across different levels of an organization
